Recap Activate’s Demo Day at San Francisco Climate Week

We heard voices from Activate and our fellows during this year’s climate week events

A Demo Day Unlike Any Other

This year, 30+ science fellows and founders showcased hands-on demos of their tech at our Hard Tech Demo Day, which was hosted by Activate and joined by our partners at Breakthrough Energy Fellows and The Engine Ventures.

If you want to discover hard-tech solutions that are truly first-of-a-kind, look to Activate Fellows. At this Demo Day, they were highlighting new R&D for a range of industries and use cases.

Biomass transformation into new uses ➡️ turning biomass waste into fabrics, replacements for plastics, and re-engineered oils for consumer and commercial applications.

Methane emissions reduction ➡️ solutions to curb methane emissions from livestock.

Capturing and destroying PFAS “forever chemicals” ➡️ in both water and soil.

Improved pest control for agriculture ➡️ through the world’s first use of nematode (roundworm) pheromones.

New fuels ➡️ including the extraction of molecules from air and water, and upgrading them into new fuels.
