"We are thrilled Rachel Slaybaugh will serve as the new director of the Cyclotron Road Division at LBL, where our entrepreneurial fellowship model was forged," says Activate CEO Ilan Gur. "We can't think of a better leader to build support for entrepreneurial science at the national labs.”

As a nuclear engineer and former ARPA-E program director, Slaybaugh brings a wealth of experience supporting entrepreneurial scientists. She has led programs supporting research in advanced nuclear fission reactors, agriculture technologies, and sensing and data analytics for four years, from 2017 through 2020.

"The Cyclotron Road Division and Activate have a shared mission to support scientists and engineers as they navigate the complex transition from science to market. I look forward to working with the Activate team and continuing our collaborative efforts,” says Slaybaugh. “Activate adds tremendous value to the Cyclotron Road Division."
